North Reading Police Capture Robbery Suspect
Tips lead to arrest of 35-year-old North Reading resident

Police Chief Michael P. Murphy said after receiving numerous tips from members of the public, the North Reading Police Department arrested a suspect in connection with an armed robbery that occurred early Friday.
DANIEL CHRISTIE, AGE 35, OF NORTH READING was arrested without incident after three different credible tips came in from members of the public, who saw the North Reading Police Department press release and surveillance footage on social media.
The tips led police to focus their investigation on CHRISTIE and ultimately led to his arrest this evening.

CHRISTIE has been charged with one count of Armed Robbery and he is currently being held at the North Reading Police Department. He will be arraigned Monday in Woburn District Court. He is allegedly the suspect seen in surveillance video footage walking into the Lucky Mart convenience store on North Street Friday morning and showing a handgun tucked into his waistband, demanding case from the clerk.
"Social media is a very powerful tool, and today our community showed demonstratively that it will not tolerate brazen acts of violence. I am extremely proud of the citizens who came forward and phoned in tips to the North Reading Police Department that directly led to the arrest of a suspect within 12 hours of the incident," Chief Murphy said.

These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
