
The Rotary Club of North Reading was recently recognized by the local Rotary District 7930 for its achievements during the current year. The District Governor Citation is presented to a club for completing a minimum of eight out of twelve qualifying activities or projects. This year they included activities such as supporting veterans, taking an active stand to reduce substance use in a community, supporting an international medical mission to benefit children, reducing hunger in their home community, and more. Rotary District Governor David Manzi commended the North Reading Rotarians, “This club truly deserves recognition for taking an active role in its community. This award recognized their efforts to improve the lives of people they know in their neighborhoods as well as people they’ll never meet across the globe. They deserve the recognition and I’m so happy to present them with the District Governor Citation.” Rotary District 7930 supports 47 Rotary Clubs in the Greater Boston and Southern New Hampshire areas. The Rotary Club of North Reading was one of 15 Rotary Clubs in the area to receive the recognition.
In addition, the club was recognized internationally for its support of the Rotary Foundation as a 100% Paul Harris Fellowship Club. Rotarians, friends and family members may be recognized with a Paul Harris Fellowship for their support in one or more of the 6 key areas of the Rotary Foundation including: maternal health and wellness, basic education and literacy, peace and conflict resolution, water and sanitation, economic and community development and disease prevention and treatment. All members of the North Reading Rotary Club have now been recognized with a Paul Harris Fellowship.
