NRPD Hosts Careers In Law Enforcement Workshop

The North Reading Police Department is hosting a free workshop to students and families. The May 7th workshop is designed to share information with students who may be interested in careers in law enforcement, forensic sciences, law, and crime analysis. North Reading Police Detective Tom Hatch explained, “A law enforcement career doesn’t just mean being a police officer. There’s a huge range of interests and professions that police work with. We want to make sure students today know about how it all ties together and let them know about career opportunities that support law enforcement at the local and federal level.”

Participants can expect to learn from professionals in the areas of local and federal law enforcement, investigations, forensics, crime scene analysis, defense law, prosecution, and more. The event is interactive and there will be time for students and their families to ask questions from the professionals. Presenters include representatives from the North Reading Police Department, Community Impact Team, Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, Drug Enforcement Agency, Attorney Sean Delaney, and the Massachusetts State Police Forensics Unit.

The workshop will be hosted on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 from 6:00pm to 8:30pm at the Middle/High School Distance Learning Lab.
