Pat Brickley First From North Reading To Finish Marathon
40-year-old is 1,618th overall in 121st Boston Marathon

Patrick Brickley was the first North Reading runner to cross the finish line of the 121st Boston Marathon Monday, finishing in 3:01.42.
The 40-year-old Brickley's finish was good for 1,618th place overall. He was 1,511th in male finishers. On a warm marathon Monday Brickley's time was 1:27.07 thru the first half of the race.
The second North Reading finisher was 47-year-old Thor Kirleis in 3:37.45. Kirleis finished 9,119th overall.

Former North Reading resident and local hockey legend Bobby Carpenter joined with Marblehead's Denna Laing in making the long run into Boston as part of Team Denna and the two finished in 4:32.30. Laing suffered a severe spinal cord injury during the 2015-16 Winter Hockey Classic at Gillette Stadium and the two teamed up to raise money for Journey Forward.
