Police Arrest Man After Credit Card Skimming Device Found In Car

Woburn man remains under investigation for reported assault with a dangerous weapon.

NORTH READING - The North Reading Police Department arrested a Woburn man Friday on multiple charges and is continuing to investigate his possible connection to an assault Thursday night on I-93 according to Chief Michael P. Murphy.

Nicholas Jewett, 27, was arrested and charged with:

  • Operating With a Suspended License
  • Possession of a Credit Card Reader (Skimming Device)

North Reading Police stopped Jewett earlier Friday on Rt. 28 for a traffic offense. In doing so, officers determined that Jewett's vehicle registration had been queried dozens of times last night by multiple law enforcement agencies. The queries of his registration were in connection with his vehicle's alleged involvement in an assault with a BB gun on I-93 in Woburn last night.
