Police Log: Large Amount of Baby Formula Stolen

Monday, Nov. 18
At 1:11 p.m., an officer helped a man driving on Main Street whose car alarm was malfunctioning.
At 4:45 p.m., a Walmart employee reported two people stole a large amount of baby formula from the store.
At 5:07 p.m., police arrested Moises Alberto Lopez, 25, 32 Juniper St., Lawrence, and charged him with operating a motor vehicle without a license and an equipment violation. Police pulled over Lopez on Main Street because he was driving a vehicle with “defective equipment.” They found he also didn’t have a license and made the arrest.

Wednesday, Nov. 20
At 11:01 a.m., police responded to Marblehead Street about rocks and gravel in the road. Police called the Department of Public Works, which responded to clear the road.

At 1:30 p.m., a resident reported a caller attempted to scam her with the “grandson scam.”
Thursday, Nov. 21
At 3:47 a.m., police received the first of many calls about smoke in the area. The smoke was coming from a large compost fire on the Tewksbury/Wilmington line, which blanketed North Reading with smoke.
At noon, police received a call about a stolen truck from Main Street. Police took a report.
At 9:53 p.m., police responded to Park Street about a man on a roof who climbed into a window. An officer spoke to the man who had locked himself out of his apartment.
