Police Log: North Reading Man Charged on Drug Offenses

Tuesday, Aug. 5

At 12:05 p.m., police responded to a two-car crash at Elm and Pleasant streets. There were no reported injuries. Two vehicles were towed.

At 12:28 p.m., a North Reading resident reported a scammer called her and claimed that he was from the IRS and she owed $4,000 or would be arrested.

At 2:01 p.m., police summonsed a 52-year-old North Reading man to court and charged him with cultivating marijuana.

At 10:20 a.m., animal control responded to MacIntyre Drive about a raccoon stuck in a trash barrel.

At 10:50 a.m., a scammer called a North Reading resident and claimed that the resident’s grandson was in a car accident and needed money. Police advised the woman to report the scam call to the Attorney General’s Office.

At 1:38 p.m., police arrested Michael J. Farricy Jr., 27, 56 Chestnut St., North Reading, and charged him with possessing a Class B drug to distribute and possessing a Class B drug. Police made the arrest in the Walmart parking lot.

At 6:29 p.m., a Kitty’s employee reported that a customer left without paying a $60 bill. The employee took down the license plate number, which belonged to a Danvers resident. Police notified Danvers Police.

Thursday, Aug. 7

At 4:52 p.m., police received a call after a jacket was stolen from a vehicle in the Walmart parking lot. The jacket is valued at $100. Police are investigating.

At 9:56 p.m., a Lisamary Drive resident reported hearing noises near her pool. Police believed it was an animal making the sounds and it may have been a fisher cat.
