Police Log: North Reading Resident Reports Being Scammed

Tuesday, July 29
At 7:53 a.m., an employee at 7-Eleven reported a shoplifting incident from the previous night. A person entered the store and tried to take items. When confronted, he told the clerk that he had permission to take the items. He left the items on the counter and left the business. 7-Eleven planned to issue a no trespass order to the person.
At 3:15 p.m., Stop & Shop reported a shoplifter. The store handled the matter with help from police and issued a no trespass order to the person.

Wednesday, July 30
At 4:19 p.m., police responded to the Little School about a youth running on the roof. The youth said he went on the roof to retrieve a ball. Police told him to stay off the roof.

Thursday, July 31
At 10:37 a.m., a North Reading resident reported being the victim of a craigslist scam. Police took a report.
At 7:15 p.m., police arrested Nicholas Aims, 28, 5 Clinton Court, Andover, and charged him on a warrant. Police made the arrest during a traffic stop at Main and North streets.
