Police Log: Reading Man Charged with Drunk Driving

Friday, Nov. 8

At 12:44 a.m., police arrested Derek Ciccariello, 28, 20 Chapel Hill Dr., Reading, and charged him with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of liquor and speeding. Police made the arrest on Concord Street.

At 1:12 a.m., a motorist called police after striking a deer at Chestnut and Haverhill streets. The deer ran into the woods after being struck.

At 12:55 p.m., police received a call from Concord Street about a stolen snowplow. Police filed a report.

At 2:11 p.m., a Greenbriar Drive resident reported an attempted burglary. Someone reportedly tried to use a pry bar or screwdriver to enter the apartment.

At 6:59 p.m., a woman called police after she said she found pins in candy that she purchased from Walmart. Police asked the woman to talk to the store manager.

Saturday, Nov. 9

At 12:27 p.m., police responded to North Street after someone threw nails in a resident’s driveway. The homeowner said this is the fourth straight year someone threw nails in his driveway.

 

Sunday, Nov. 10

At 1:36 a.m., police responded to North Street concerning a one-car accident. A lawn was damaged in the accident. The driver was taken to the hospital and the car was towed.

At 1:37 p.m., a Walmart employee reported two shoplifters. The store said it would handle the matter.

At 5:44 p.m., police summonsed a Chelmsford man for operating a motor vehicle with an expired license. Police pulled over the man on Lowell Road because he reportedly didn’t use his turn signal.
