Police Log: Resident Complains About Early Construction Workers

The following information was supplied by the North Reading police department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Friday, Nov. 15

At 5:36 a.m., a neighbor of the North Reading Middle School reported that workers at the school construction project unloaded a truck at the work site at 5:30 a.m. that day and 4:30 a.m. the previous day. Police spoke to the driver of the truck and advised him that work should not start before 7 a.m. at the site.

At 12:30 p.m., police responded to Concord Street concerning a two-car motor vehicle accident. There were no injuries, but one vehicle was towed.

At 2:25 p.m., a motorist told police that his dog dropped his wallet out of his vehicle’s window on Lowell Road.  An officer responded, but couldn’t find the wallet.

Saturday, Nov. 16

At 6:40 a.m., police responded to Gordon Road after a motorist struck a fence. There were no reported injuries.

At 8:06 a.m., a Lakeside Boulevard resident reported someone stole a vehicle from his driveway. Police took a report.

At 1:33 p.m., a Walmart employee called police after a resident went to the store to wire money to someone who called her. Police spoke to the woman and informed her that it was a scam.

At 6:50 p.m., a Park Street businessowner reported that a male was pacing in front of his business and yelling into a phone. Police responded, but the male had already left.

 

Sunday, Nov. 17

At 12:42 a.m., police took a 27-year-old Reading man into protective custody. Police responded to Park Street concerning a fight in a parking lot and subsequently placed the man into protective custody.

At 8:28 a.m., a Concord Street resident reported someone stole a ladder rack from his front yard. The item was for sale for $300.
