Police Log: Single-Car Crash Knocks Out Power to Area

Monday, Nov. 11

At 3 a.m., police responded to a single-car accident on Kings Row. The driver struck a ground transformer, which cut power to the area. The driver was not injured and the car was towed. Reading Municipal Light Department responded to restore power.

At 2:46 p.m., a Chestnut Street resident said two hunters asked her if they could hunt deer on her property. She declined their request and notified police.

Tuesday, Nov. 12

At 7:52 a.m., police responded to a three-car accident at Park and Chestnut streets. No one needed to be transferred to a hospital. Two vehicles were towed.

At 5:41 p.m., police responded to Arline Drive after a report of a man acting suspiciously. A resident said she saw a man get out of a van and walk toward her garage, which was open. When she walked out of the house, the man got back into the van and drove away.

Wednesday, Nov. 13

At 1:30 p.m., a Freedom Drive resident reported an injured coyote on her front lawn. Police responded and the coyote ran into the woods.

At 5:20 p.m., police responded to Haverhill Street after a deer stuck a vehicle.

 

Thursday, Nov. 14

At 7:47 a.m., a Park Street resident reported an attempted burglary overnight. Police are investigating.

At 1:11 p.m., police received a call about a solicitor on Elm Street. Police spoke to the Comcast employee and informed him of how to register with police. He declined to register and stopped soliciting.
