Police Log: Teen Charged With Drunk Driving After Crash

Friday, July 25
At 11:31 p.m., police arrested a 17-year-old and charged the person with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of liquor. Police made the arrest after a report of a one-car accident on Chestnut Street.
Saturday, July 26At 3:36 a.m., an officer on patrol noticed that a port-a-potty was turned over at Ipswich River Park and trash was thrown inside the street hockey rink.

At 8:30 a.m., a North Reading resident reported identity theft.
At 2:33 p.m., police arrested Sara C. Gwin, 32, 256 Burnham Road, Lowell, and charged her with shoplifting more than $100 by concealing merchandise and operating a motor vehicle without insurance. Police made the arrest after a report of a shoplifter allegedly trying to steal baby formula from Walmart.

At 3:07 p.m., police received a call from Main Street about a hit-and-run accident. There was significant damage to the vehicle that was struck. Police put out a “be on the lookout” to area police departments. Police are investigating.
At 6:25 p.m., the owner of a Concord Street business reported possible vandalism. She said someone tampered with roof-top air conditioning units.
