Police Warn About a Possibly Sick Coyote
The animal was spotted in a neighborhood on Thursday afternoon. Residents in the area are being asked to keep their pets inside for the time being.

North Reading Police are warning residents about a possibly sick coyote that was spotted walking in a neighborhood Thursday afternoon.
The medium-sized coyote was seen walking on Turner Drive, Pleasant Street, Susan Drive, Strawberry Lane, Lindor Road and headed toward Duane Drive at about 1:30 p.m. Thursday.
“We believe the animal is sick which is resulting in the animal walking through the neighborhoods during daylight hours. Please keep pets inside for the time being. We currently have officers in the area attempting to locate the animal and Animal Control has been notified.

"Although the animal has not been aggressive, these animals can be very dangerous and may also be infected with (rabies). If you see a coyote in the area please contact NRPD and or Animal Control to report it,” said police.
