Police Warn of Dangers of Hot Cars
Police urge residents to call the department if they see a child or pet left in a hot car.

The North Reading Police are joining the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in warning about the dangers of heat stroke.
The police department recently publicized a Heatstroke Fact Sheet about the dangers of leaving children in hot cars. The fact sheet also applies to the dangers for pets, according to police.
Police are also asking residents to watch a video that NFL playeer Tyrann Mathieu did in conjunction with PETA about leaving a dog in a hot car.

North Reading Police are also encouraging anyone who sees something that appears to be an emergency or an unsafe condition for a child or pet to call them.
All emergencies can be reported by dialing 911. For matters that do not require an emergency response, call 978 664-3131 and then press 0 to speak with an officer.
