Police Warn Public of Unregistered Solictors

North Reading police alerted the public that there were unregistered door-to-door solicitors seen in town on Monday.

Police are asking residents to contact them if they are contacted by the solicitors so that they can make sure they stop.

The North Reading Police Department’s non-emergency phone number is 978-664-3131.

While police did not state that the solicitors were involved in any criminal activity, last month there were issues in North Reading, Reading, and Wakefield with solicitors from an out-of-state company that has had police and residents on a heightened alert.

Police police investigated a similar pattern of break-ins in all three towns in September.

The pattern of burglaries and larcenies that appear to be connected to employees of the same door-to-door solicitation company.

Employees for a Willis, Texas-based company, Urban Nation are allegedly responsible for the break-ins, police officials stated at the time.
