Richard Prevost Passes Away
Longtime North Reading resident loved to listen to jazz and Dixieland music.

Richard Louis Prevost, 84, of Charlottesville, VA and formerly of North Reading, died on Sunday, October 22, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born on September 9, 1933 in Barre, VT, he was the son of the late Louis J. and Yvonne M. (Longchamp) Prevost. He was a graduate of Franklin Institute of Technology and Boston University. He has been a resident of Charlottesville, VA for the past 10 years and previously lived in North Reading for 45 years.
Richard was an Electrical Engineer as well as an avid woodworker and craftsman of fine furniture; he loved to listen to jazz and Dixieland music while working in his shop. He was devoted to his family and enjoyed bringing his children to their practices and games.

Survived by his wife Carol of Charlottesville, VA, his sons, Steven Prevost and his wife Stella and their sons, Alex and Adam of Earlysville, VA, Joseph Prevost and his wife Nancy and their daughters, Julia and Madeleine of Pepperell, MA and his daughter, Colette Murrin and her husband Shawn and their children, Meghan, Brenna, and Jack of Pepperell, MA. Richard is also survived by his loving sister, Rita J. Ross of Cape Elizabeth, ME.
His funeral will be held at Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow Street, North Reading, MA on Monday, Oct. 30 at 11 a.m. Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial services will follow at Riverside Cemetery in North Reading.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to St. Thomas Acquinas Church in Charlottesville, VA.
