The open house planned for the Tennessee Gas Pipeline project on Nov. 12 has been postponed.
The open house was planned to provide more information to the community about the pipeline. The Kinder Morgan project is expected to cross Main Street, Park Street and Haverhill Street along the power lines.

Town officials said Kinder Morgan has not provided the town with a new date.
The proposed Lynnfield line would run from Dracut to Lynnfield and would be a 20-inch pipe that would run from Kinder Morgan’s larger north and south lines, which are 32-inch pipes. The pipe would be put three feet underground.

The lines would transport gas. Kinder Morgan is not a drilling company.
The Lynnfield line would be part of a larger 13,000-mile Tennessee Gas pipeline system. It is one of two primary systems that transport gas to New England.
Kinder Morgan customers include Boston Gas, NSTAR and Essex County Gas. Kinder Morgan is the biggest server of gas in the area. The company hoped to have the project completed by November 2018, but there are still many state and federal steps before that can happen.
According to a project timeline that Kinder Morgan presented to the town in June, the company planned to host open houses in communities in November and December. Kinder Morgan officials got an earful at that June meeting by residents and officials.
