On Monday, visitors to the tavern will learn about the Rufus Porter murals and the tavern’s history as a stagecoach stop in the 19th century. You’ll get to see three inn rooms that were refurbished and furnished to look like 19th century inn rooms.
Make sure to drop by the Putnam House to see one of North Reading’s most historic homes. The Historical and Antiquarian Society is exhibiting military uniforms and war memorabilia from the Civil War, Spanish-American War, World War I, World War II and Korean War at the Putnam House.
