Youth Services Announces Autumn Programs
Youth Services offers Autumn programs and year-long referrals.

The North Reading Youth Services Department is pleased to announce programming for the upcoming back-to-school season:
For children ages 4-5
- Safe Kids Story Time at the Flint Memorial Library is a 6-week curriculum-based program that promotes child safety in all forms including fire, bike, and touching safety to name a few. The program instructs young children on what to do if they feel unsafe, how to tell an adult if they experience a questionable situation, and how to say no to unwanted touches. This program is offered in partnership with the Flint Library and North Reading Community Impact Team. Registration is required and available via the Library’s Youth Room, 4th Floor or by contacting Emma at 978.664.4942 or email eweiler@mvlc.org. This free program begins October 20th.
For children grades 3-5

- EarlyAct Club is a bi-monthly leadership and community service club representing all schools in North Reading. Based on a Rotary International model, the projects and meetings focus on the values of gratitude, community, leadership, commitment, and inclusion. Sponsored by North Reading Rotary, the club meets twice per month to plan and implement a local or international humanitarian project. - Mentoring is offered each Wednesday at the North Reading Middle School. Students in grades 3-5 are paired with a high school student for a 10-week session. This 1-hour program includes homework help and a social team-based activity. To register, contact Amy at 978.257.5281 or email youthservices@northreadingma.gov.This free program begins October 1st.
For grades 6-12
- Middle School Youth Group meets every Monday at North Reading Middle School starting at 2:30pm. Students have time to work on homework, eat a snack, work on team challenges, social skills, and traditional games. To register, contact Amy at 978.257.5281 or email youthservices@northreadingma.gov.This free program begins September 22nd.
- High School Youth Group meets weekly on Thursdays at 5:00pm in Town Hall, Room 10. The group discusses teen issues, plans field trips, and helps identify issues facing local youth. To register, contact Amy at 978.257.5281 or email youthservices@northreadingma.gov.This free cost program begins September 25th.
- EarlyRelease Actvities and Teen Movie Nights are offered in partnership with the Flint Memorial Library. The first Teen Movie Night is September 19th with a viewing of A Fault in Our Stars. Parents, families and teens are reminded that services and referrals are offered year-round through the Youth Services Department including help with: substance abuse, self-injury, mental health, social skills, teen parenting, child care referrals, volunteer opportunities, domestic violence, LGBTQ-related issues, and more.
