Youth Services Offers 6th Grade Round Table Event
Event will be hosted by Youth Services, North Reading Middle School and student volunteers

North Reading Youth Services is partnering with the North Reading Middle School to offer its first 6th Grade Round Table Event on Thursday, August 24th from 12:00pm to 1:15pm at the Middle School. This event will be in addition to the Middle School’s annual Walkabout. Open to only incoming sixth graders, this event will allow the incoming class to sit in small groups with seventh and eighth grade volunteers. Youth Services Director Amy Luckiewicz explained, “We wanted to give the incoming class a chance to ask their burning questions to kids who were in that position not long ago.” Students will also have the opportunity to practice using handheld locks, ask about after school activities, get advice on lunchroom social situations and more.” Luckiewicz continued, “It’s the little things that can cause a lot of anxiety. By hearing first-hand from other students we hope that the incoming sixth graders will feel less stressed in their first few days of middle school life. The adults will be nearby, but really this is a chance for the incoming kids to ask about things that worry them most or they’re just curious about.” This free event will begin in the Middle School cafeteria and free pizza will be served.
