
The 14 – 15yo National All Star Baseball team entered the Hockomock playoff rounds in 2nd place with a regular season record of 11-3-1. They faced Wrentham in the Quarter Finals Tuesday Night at home and came away with a 16 – 6 win. Norton started the show by scoring a quick 8 runs in the first inning. The pitching battery was stellar with Johnny Duranko, Ryan Brown and Tyler Troiano holding Wrentham to 6 runs on 8 hits. The Norton offense included a straight away Center Field Home Run by #16, Kyle Pereira with two runners on in the 4thinning to shut the door on Wrentham. Norton continues on to the semi-finals Wednesday night at home where they will host Bridgewater. Bridgewater kept its play-off hopes alive by defeating Norfolk by a score of 5 to 4.
Bridgewater faced Norton late in the regular season and the contest was ended at the top of the 4th inning due to rain. The game was eventually listed as a tie with no official winner declared. In the top half of the 4th inning, Norton led Bridgewater by a score of 1 – 0. The two will face off against each other one more time at the Norton Middle School Wednesday night at 5:30pm. The winner will move on to the Championship Game to be held on Thursday evening.
