Alleged Norton Drunk Driver Indicted in Fatal Crash

A Norton man who was allegedly drunk when he blew a red light and slammed into an oncoming car in Mansfield—killing the driver—has been indicted.
Nicholas Salvo, 23, was arrested in April. The driver who died was David Munise, 63, of Raynham.
The Sun Chronicle reported Salvo was charged with manslaughter, among other charges. An indictment means a grand jury has determined a trial is warranted based on evidence in the case.
Police said the crash happened on Route 140 at the intersection of Norfolk Street just before midnight on April 25.
An off-duty Mansfield firefighter witnessed the crash and said Salvo was traveling at a "high rate of speed" southbound on Route 140 when he ran a red light and slammed into Munise's vehicle.
Authorities said they found a bottle of Bacardi rum and a bag of marijuana inside Salvo’s vehicle, according to the Chronicle.
Munise was driving to his job at the Shaw's at Erin’s Centre shopping plaza at the time of the crash, according to the Chronicle.
