Among the approved measures was a proposal to transfer all available free cash into the town's general stabilization fund, a move intended to strengthen financial reserves and preserve funding for future needs.

Voters also approved Article 11, allowing the town to use available surplus funds to reduce property taxes for fiscal 2027.

But financial planning wasn't the only issue on the agenda.

Voters approved Article 3, eliminating the automatic five-year sewer connection requirement for property owners.

The meeting brought changes to how future development projects will be evaluated. Developers will now be required to cover the costs of professional studies examining how proposed projects could affect roads, schools, public safety, municipal services and tax revenue.

Additionally, voters approved updates to zoning standards and capital investments supporting firefighters, police, schools and water and sewer infrastructure.

The approved measures mark several changes in how Norton manages its finances, plans for development and invests in essential town services.
