NORTON, MA — The Norton Fire Department is one step closer to welcoming a new addition to its fleet.
According to a Facebook post from the department, final inspections of its newest fire engine are taking place this week in Minnesota, with the finishing touches, including lettering, expected soon.
The department expects the custom-built engine to arrive within the next 30 days.
The new engine is the result of a collaborative effort between Norton firefighters and the department's administrative staff, who worked together to design a state-of-the-art vehicle tailored to the community's needs.
Once delivered, the engine will help strengthen the department's ability to respond to emergencies and keep Norton residents safe.
