
Devens, MA- The U12 Girls, coached over the weekend by Julius Summerville, Jasir Charis and Joe Biller, won the top 8 v 8 division of the JSSA Memorial Day Tournament which took place May 25 & 26. The girls played an incredible 5 games in weather conditions that were more akin to November weather. They played though rain, wind and dropping temperatures to win all 5 games.
The first game on Saturday was against Delta FC where the girls won 3-1. They then played hard in the rain and wind to win against the Lexington United PDA Strikettes,
1-0. They game back on Sunday to win their first game 2-0 against the Capital SC CSC girls and secured themselves a place in the semi-finals. The semi-final game was against the JSSA Rovers where they took a 3-2 win after a tie game, overtime and PK’s. In the finals, they once again went against the Lexington United PDA Strikettes and after overtime, they once again went to PK’s. The EFC Girls were unstoppable as all three PK’s went in and secured them first place. The EFC girls only allowed 1 goal during the 5 games.
The girls are from Norton and Bellingham, MA and Cumberland and Warwick, RI.
