Middleboro Student Wins Boston College High School Scholarship

James Evers of Middleboro, an 8th grader at Sacred Heart School, Kingston, won an Academic Merit scholarship to Boston College High School.

This year the school offered 143 scholarships to academically talented young men from 63 cities/towns in Eastern Massachusettts. There are four categories of scholarships, some named for Jesuit saints: 43 Ignatian scholarships named for St. Ignatius, the founder of the Jesuits, 75 Gonzaga scholarships named for St. Aloysius Gonzaga, 8 named for a BC High benefactor, Thomas Shields of Shields MRI and 17 called Academic Merit scholarships.

James is the son of proud parents Mr. Richard and Mrs. Jennifer Evers.

Boston College High School is a Jesuit, Catholic, college-preparatory school for young men founded in 1863. The school enrolls approximately 1600 students from more than 100 communities in eastern Massachusetts.
