Having wrapped up their regular season the NHS Swim & Dive Team are still in the pool preparing for the TVL championship meet.
Last night the team held their annual “Swim & Dive-a-thon” – their major fundraising event of the year. Each swimmer commits to a number of laps that they will swim while the divers were counting the times they flipped and collects donations based on their performance.
While the fundraiser’s primary purpose is to support the Swim & Dive program, the athletes have a tradition of “paying-it-forward” by donating a portion of the funds they raise to a local charity. This year the team will be sharing with “It Takes A Community.” “ITAC” offers support to Norton families with a terminally ill parent.

The team will present their donation to “ITAC” at that organization’s annual event – the “Kathy Bailey Memorial Basketball Game” being held at the high school on March 15th. For more information visit “It Takes a Community Norton” on Facebook.
The team would like to acknowledge Barrowsville Station & Grogan-Marciano Sporting Goods for supporting their fundraiser.

Congratulations to all the swimmers & divers for a job well done both in & out of the pool and best of luck at TVLs!
