Norton Community Cable Announces Community Grant Winner

The Norton Community Access Cable Television Board of Directors would like to announce and congratulate one of the recipients of the Norton Community Access Television Community Grants for the second half of the 2012. One of the recipients of the Community Grant is Lee Parker and the Norton Public Library.

We are proud to be able to give Lee Parker and her amazing team at the Norton Public Library a grant in the amount of $7,000.00 to help Miss Parker further continue the vast improvements that have been done to the Norton Public Library. The Norton Public Library is our first two time winner of the Norton Community Access Television’s Community Grant and has done an amazing job in the enhancements through the first grant which gave Miss Parker the ability to lead the Norton Public Library to achieve accreditation status through the state of Massachusetts making the Norton Public Library an incredible resource for not just the community of Norton but for the surrounding towns as well.

The check presentation for the Norton Public Library will be done at the Library’s March Board of Directors meeting which is on Tuesday March 12th at 7:00pm at the Norton Public Library’s Community Room.

As the Norton Cable Access Board of Directors is looking forward to a new studio which is scheduled to be opened to the public in the Summer of 2013 we are grateful for this opportunity to be able to give back to our small community and we look to be able to provide not only funding but education and training in many areas of television programming and production. Public Access Television is a way to give the smallest voice an opportunity to be heard. Through Norton TV’s television programming or through the internet at www.nortontv.org we encourage our people to join the sharing of ideas through these channels and help bring more voices to any debate, any school production and any sporting event from Little League to Varsity and everything in between.  The Norton Cable Access Television Board of Directors is pleased to announce that it will continue funding a Community Grant for the Town of Norton. This Community Grant which will be funded by giving back 10% of Norton Cable Access’ income through the funding received by Comcast through all the subscribers from the Town of Norton. We as a Board of Directors want to be able to give back to our community and we are happy to announce that we will continue this through 2013 and hopefully beyond. We encourage anyone who is in need of funding that is under the umbrella of television, technology and programming to apply for the Norton Community Access Television’s Community Grant by going to our website at www.nortontv.org and click on the Community Grant link.
