
The Norton High Wrestling Team recently held its annual awards banquet at Francis Farm in Rehobeth featuring a delicious BBQ dinner prepared by Ted Marvel of New England's Best Pig Pickins and a season's highlight video produced by Mike Kahn.
The Lancers went 27-3 this year setting a new team record for most wins in a season, capturing its second straight sectional championship and finishing as D-3 State runners-up. In addition, senior captain Stephen Hudson set a team record 104 career pins en route to 132 career victories, 2nd all-time at NHS. Senior captain Jack Cuneo joined Hudson in the elite "Century Club" of 100+ career wins with 106, 5th all-time at NHS. Both Hudson and junior JT Taylor won sectional championships while junior co-captain Mike Travers had an amazing season recording 45 wins and 35 pins this season establishing new team records in both categories.
All members of the team received sectional championship T-shirts, MIAA certificates and dog-tags to recognizetheir accomplishments. Top competitors were honored with special awards as follows:
