Norton Middle School wrestlers completed their first-ever season sponsored by the Norton Parks and Recreation Department and coached by Norton High School coaches and wrestlers. Following the end of the high school season in early March, 37 Norton Middle School athletes trained twice a week to prepare for two meets against Randolph Community Middle School in early April.
On Friday, April 5th Norton hosted Randolph before a spirited crowd and won 74-45. Josiah Saintius, Colin Cochrane, Blake Callaway, Deven Santangelo, Brendan Merriott, Shamus Cochane, Andrew Browne, Max Albert, Andrew Coleman, Brendan Maguire, Cam Gill, John Paul Hynes, Mike McNichols, Sam Marcotte and Blaise Germano all won matches for the Lancers.
Then on Thursday, April 11th, the team traveled to Randolph and came home winners again, this time by a score of 92-42. Again Brendan Maguire, Deven Santangelo, Blaise Germano, Brendan Merriott, Mike McNichols, Shamus Cochrane, Cam Gill, John Paul Hynes and Colin Cochrane won their matches, but so did Colby Malloch, Amanda McCann, Jasmine Suydan, Isaiah Cinchilla and Colin Powers. Other Norton wrestlers included Cam Vatalano, Dawson Moitoza, Tim Tucker, Eric Sokolowski, Chris Cardone, Bruno Ferrara and Arthur O'Neill all of whom competed well for the Lancers.
