Armed Robber Caught in Norton: Police

NORTON, MA — Norton police on Friday afternoon captured an armed robbery suspect.
John Coutu, 28, of South Kingstown, R.I., allegedly used a gun to rob a Cumberland Farms in Charlestown, R.I.

The Rhode Island State Police notified Norton police that Coutu could be in the area; officers found him walking on South Worcester Street and took him into custody. He was charged with being a fugitive from justice and was scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Attleboro District Court.
