Bald Eagle on the Rez
What a great weekend of kayak tours on the Norton Reservoir! The highlight was a Bald Eagle sighting. Wonderful weather made for some great paddling trips.

Norton Kayak Company met many new friends last weekend on the rez. Sandy and Lori from Easton brought a great group of ladies to our 1 p.m. tour. The tour finished at 4 p.m. with an American Bald Eagle sighting at the kayak launch located behind the Norton Recreation Center. Other wildlife sightings included a diving Osprey, a Great Blue Heron, a baby snapping turtle, mute swans and their growing singlets, as well as our resident river otters.
I would like to thank the unknown boater who came to the aid of a capsized canoe. With the police scrambling around the shoreline to investigate the report of a capsized craft, the unknown boater brought the canoe and paddlers back to shore! A serious situation was averted because the paddlers were wearing their life vests, and the quick action by the boater.
The fishing on the Rez continues to produce lots of largemouth bass. Rubber worms and silver crankbaits have worked great! Please be aware of the new lead laws in Massachusetts. No lead in lures or weights that weigh less than an ounce. This will ensure the saftey of the loons in our state.

We would like to wish Barb and Tim of Smith street a happy anniversary. Thanks for spending part of your day with us! Hope to see some new faces this coming week on the rez. Join us if you can; the weather looks great for the rest of the week. Paddle safe!
