Perfect Weather brought the residents to the town of Norton into the downtown section of the town for the 2013 Norton Memorial Day Parade as Norton’s veterans who served in the military for their country, along with town Manager Mike Yuntis and the Norton Town Selectmen along with State Representative F. Jay Barrows and the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of Norton along with the Norton High School band that provided the music on this lovely day in May for a parade and myself, Peter J. Wiggins marched into the parade with Norton’s contigent along with Norton Fire and Norton Police Honor Guard marching into the parade and the Parade Route went down to the Pine Street Cemetery for a dedication at the cemetery and a Prayer by Reverend Bernard Hinckley of the Trinitarian Congregational Church and a playing of TAPS at the Cemetery and then stopped by the Pine Street Memorial Rock as another round of prayer and a moment of silence and speeches by Edward Brault and then it was to the Town Common in Norton for more speeches, more prayers and more moments of silence along with the Norton High School band providing the music for the parade as they were singing all sorts of patriotic songs such as “God Bless America” and the Star-Spangled banner and then it was on to the dedication of the MSG Greg Trent Memorial Park Dedication as it was complete with a Honor Guard gun salute, a raising of the US Flag and another flag that belonged to Msg. Trent and Most of Norton’s veterans participated in it along with Norton Fireman and Speeches by Selectmen Bob Kimball and State Representative F. Jay Barrows as it was another beautiful Parade by the Town of Norton and it was better by having me marching in it and the town of Norton and it’s veterans and it’s citizens were thankful to me by having me march into the parade and it was a beautiful Parade today and everyone, including me sure had a great time at the Memorial Day Parade today.
