I Just Love Working with Habitat Volunteers!
The house on Hawthorne Road has risen from the dirt thanks to those who enjoy helping others.
What I love most about working with Habitat volunteers is seeing their joy in helping someone else -- almost always a stranger -- realize the dream of home ownership. Working together with the homeowner to build a house is an experience that puts a huge smile on all our faces.
Have you been over to Hawthorne Road in Norton lately? Have you seen our house as it's risen from the dirt to take its place among other well-kept homes there? OK, right now the green insulation isn't gorgeous, but once we have our siding on it, it will fit as though it's always been there. And just wait until we add the front porch!
A Norton family, a Norton home, and some Norton volunteers. What could be better? So, if you haven't seen the home, or haven't considered volunteering to help in some way -- please do! We'd love to meet you and see how you might help with this house or perhaps one of our other local builds in 2012. Or even on one of our committees . . . ?
