Norton Kayak Company's Guide to the Norton Reservoir
It was a rainy week on the Norton Reservoir.The weather was not fit for a duck.Let the sun shine again !
Oh the Rain! This week at was a wash out. The weather for the rest of the week looks promising and we hope to get back to kayak tours on the Norton Rez. Last week wildlife sightings include Great Blue Heron, Great Egret, red winged blackbirds, red tailed hawks and turkey vultures.
Fisherman have been bragging about lots of fish caught. Rubber worms and top water bait have the largemouth bass biting. Lots of fish being caught in front of dam. The dam project has created new structure on the dam face. There were lots of softball size rocks placed in front of the old concret wall. This new structure is priving good for fisherman on the Norton Rez.
To help keep our non native plant species in check please do not use lawn fertilizer. Most will wash into water a fertilize invasive plant species. If you are coming to the Norton Rez PLEASE WASH YOUR BOAT, KAYAK OR CANOE! Help stop the spread of invasive plants!
