The Norton Habitat Build Continues

Old Colony Habitat's work at Hawthorne Road, Norton, continues

Wow, last Saturday at Hawthorne Road was great!  Our new homeowner, Cindy, was there hammering nails in "sill plates," boards that will help hold her new home in place on the foundation (ah, the things we learn).  We had ten or so volunteers from a Boston-based meetup group, and we had a few Old Colony Board members there as well.  We managed to get the decking on for the first floor, and this week we're possibly starting the framing (don't quote me!).

I checked our site, and there are still a few spots open for volunteers for this Saturday, July 23, from 8:30 until about 2:30 or 3:00.  If you'd like to a part of this awesome, local home-building event, please visit our site at www.oldcolonyhabitat.org and click on the VolunteerUp button, top right side.

Hope to see you there!
