Bridgewater Man Arrested for Possession of Marijuana in a School Zone

At approximately 4:45 p.m. Friday, a male identified as Justin Thompson, 20, of Bridgewater, was placed under arrest in the parking lot of North Easton Savings Bank, 25 W. Main St., Norton.Β  Thompson was charged with possession of a class D substance (marijuana) with intent to distribute within a school zone.

Detective James Franco encountered a vehicle in the parking lot of the bank and observed two suspicious males sitting in the vehicle.Β  Det. Franco approached the vehicle and observed Thompson, the operator, holding a box containing what appeared to be marijuana and a large amount of cash.Β  Other items consistent with distribution of marijuana were also discovered, and Thompson was placed under arrest.Β  The other male passenger was not placed under arrest.

Thompson was held at Norton Police Department on $500 cash bail.
