Car Hits Pole, Shuts Down Eddy Street

Driver in single-car crash sustained non-life threatening injuries.

A single-car accident on Eddy Street sent a N. Attleboro resident to the hospital Wednesday night and has shut down the road for the next few hours.

At this time it is unknown what caused 46-year-old Kate Hayes to veer off the road and hit a utility pole in the vicinity of 63 Eddy St. She was transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital by Norton Fire Department for non-life threatening injuries.

Hayes was cited for speeding and marked lanes violation. There were no other occupants in the vehicle.

National Grid responded to the scene to repair damage.

β€œThey took out a whole pole,” said Sergeant John Eisnor.

The driver hit the same pole that a April 2. That accident also shut down Eddy Street.

National Grid responded to the scene to repair damage.

"Power is still up," Eisnor said. "The lines stayed connected but at some point they are going to shut the power off.

"This is probably going to be an all-nighter."

The accident was reported at 9:07 p.m. The accident is under investigation by Patrolman Brian Greco.
