Traffic Delays Likely Saturday

It's going to be busy in town this Saturday with the Reach the Beach Relay, Wheaton commencement ceremony, a concert at Comcast and youth baseball.

Reach the Beach will run through Norton from approximately 2:30 to 10 a.m. Saturday morning. Runners will come into town from Easton's Bay Road and cross onto Route 123. The first checkpoint in town is at . They will then make their way down Power Street then S. Worcester Street until they reach . From there they will head into Taunton.

The commencement ceremony will begin 10 a.m. If you are attending this, the graduation will take place on the campus green, also known as "The Dimple." If it rains, the ceremony will be moved to the Haas Athletic Center on campus. The keynote speaker will be Janet L. Robinson, retired president and CEO of the New York Times Company and chair of the board of trustees at Salve Regina University.

The Kiss 108 Concert at the Comcast Center begins 2 p.m.

Police urge drivers to allow for extra time and/or seek alternative routes to avoid the town center between the hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
