Congratulations NHS Class of 2011!
Norton High School graduation ceremony took place Friday, June 3 at Comcast Center.
On Friday, the Class of 2011 walked across the stage to get their diplomas and complete their high school careers at .
The graduating class of Norton High consisted of 174 students, and while this was not the first time that Norton’s graduation has taken place at the Comcast Center, it was certainly a night these graduates would not soon forget.
“It was really cool to have it here, it's really nice here,” said valedictorian Timothy Webberson.

The ceremony included speeches from Webberson, as well as salutatorian Danielle Golden and class president Jessica Wayslow. Kimberly Smith read the class poem, and the audience was lead in their national anthem by the class secretary Audra Schlehuber.
Perhaps the most memorable performance of the night was by the senior chorus members who were joined by a select few in their performance of “I’ve Had The Time of My Life.” The performance was highlighted by all senior solos. The song was picked last year, and they did a great job performing it.

“This chorus has really grown since I’ve been here and we will be sad to see these seniors go,” said chorus director Kyla Polak.
Brief speeches by faculty members were highlighted by principal Raymond Dewar who had the crowd laughing at his golf game, school superintendant Dr. Patricia Ansay who related her speech to the memorable Mr. Rogers, and the Norton school committee chair Elizabeth McManus who talked about the adversity that many famous people, including Bob Cousy and Michael Jordan, had to overcome in order to be the person they are today. McManus also delivered the most important message to the graduates when she said that she promised if they used their Norton public school's education, they could succeed at any level.
The Class of 2011 included 31 members of the National Honor Society, 90 percent of students moving on to secondary education, and three students who will be enlisting in the military to protect and honor our country.
On behalf of Patch we congratulate the class of 2011 and wish you continuous luck with all of your future endeavors.
