Drunk Driving in Norton Police Log: Dec. 8 - 10

Saturday, Dec. 8
12:26 a.m.: W. Main Street, general disturbance. Norton Crisis reports there are approximately 30 kids in the parking lot being loud. Officers en route. Sergeant Goodwin reports parties have been advised, he'll be off speaking with crisis.
7:47 a.m.: Fordham Drive, fraud/embezzlement. Walk-in reporting someone got her debit card number and made $800 worth of purchases with it in New York. She will be notifying the bank when it opens.
8:00 a.m.: Berry Street, motor vehicle theft. Caller reports two dirt bikes were stolen from the sheds in his backyard overnight.
10:08 a.m.: Pleasant Street, suspicious condition. Caller reports receiving possible scam phone call last night regarding medicare card. No personal information was given.
12:26 p.m.: Samoset Street, larceny. Caller reports her husband's 4-wheeler was stolen some time last night.  It was locked up outside, and the locks were cut. Owner of vehicle will be locating VIN number and coming to the station.
9:31 p.m.: Dean/Harvey Street, suspicious condition. Patrolman King checking on a vehicle in the lot of Lyons Field. Males in the woods. They are waiting for parents to arrive. Individuals will be issued citations for 94c. Mother was advised.
10:49 p.m.: Hadley Road, motor vehicle accident hit and run. Caller reports male in a black Dodge Durango was dropping a female off at neighbors house and struck her daughter’s boyfriend’s car, which was parked in the street. Vehicle left the area. She states a neighbor witnessed it. Less than $1,000 in damage, information exchanged.
11:34 p.m.: Harvey Street, motor vehicle accident hit and run. Deer struck by vehicle, the vehicle left the area and deer is in road.

Sunday, Dec. 9
1:45 a.m.: E. Main Street, motor vehicle accident. No injuries.
3:15 a.m.: Old Colony Road, motor vehicle accident. Caller reports there is a two-car accident with no injuries. Patrolman Chmielinski reports he assisted operator with some debris on her
windshield.
8:02 p.m.: E. Main Street, motor vehicle accident. Caller reports accident in front of college, pedestrian hit. Transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital.

Monday, Dec. 10
1:07 a.m.: E. Main Street. Police arrested Matthew D. Mowry Jr., 21, of N. Washington Street, Norton, and charged him with speeding in violation of special regulation, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and operation of a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor.
2:16 a.m.: Wilbur Terrace, general disturbance. Caller reports excessive noise coming from the unit below him. Party of 15 to 20 people. Advised to shut it down.
10:01 a.m.: W. Main Street, field investigation. Patrolman Chmielinski reports will be with Detective Franco at the Yelle School for a lock-in drill.
2:09 p.m.: W. Main Street, harassment/threats.
2:26 p.m.: Lincoln Street, harassment/threats. Walk-in reporting he is being harassed by a former girlfriend. She has also threatened to harm child. Sergeant Dennett advised him of his options and requested a log note.
2:39 p.m.: Cottage Street, harassment/threats. Walk-in reports that she is being harassed. Advised of rights.  
5:26 p.m.: E. Main Street, motor vehicle accident hit and run. Caller reports she is following a driver that just pulled out of Sportsway, hit another car, and kept going. Caller reports driver just
turned down Elm Street and got out of his vehicle.  He is falling over the place. Back in his vehicle towards Reservoir Street, down Arrow Road. Patrolman Schleicher reports suspect is unconscious in the back of the cruiser. Patient treated by Norton Fire Department and released to Norton Police Department.
7:50 p.m.: Taunton Avenue, field investigation. Patrolman Greco off at Wheaton Public Safety regarding the pedestrian struck yesterday. Enroute to dorm to speak with victim.
5:54 p.m.: Arrow Road. Police arrested Jean C. Bernier, 71, of Mansfield Avenue, and charged him with disorderly conduct, leaving the scene of property damage, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and operation of a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor, second offense.
