AARP Driver Safety Program

The AARP Driver Safety Program, a classroom refresher course for drivers aged 50 and older, is holding a class in Norton, Ma. Cars have changed and so have traffic rules, driving conditions and the roads we drive on every day. The course explains changes that occur in vision, hearing, and reaction time as we age and provides useful driving safety tips for handling these changes. An AARP trained volunteer instructor will be presenting this course. You will learn defensive driving techniques, new traffic laws and rules of the road, how to deal with aggressive drivers, how to handle problem situations such as left turns, right-of-ways, interstate highway traffic, trucks and blind spots and how to safely use anti-lock brakes, air bags and safety belts. • Anyone can participate in this classroom setting atmosphere • There will be NO TESTING The AARP Driver Safety Program class will be held at the Epoch Assisted Living Center, 190 Mansfield Ave on Tuesday May 17, 2011. The class will start at 10:00 am and end at 3:15 pm. There will be a break for lunch so either bring something with you, or be prepared to get something in the area. The fee for the AARP Driver Safety Program is only $14.00; if you are an AARP member the fee is $12.00.
