Alan Pearlmutter to perform at EPOCH

Alan Pearlmutter, singer, jazz drummer, composer, conductor and professor, will perform “Songs and Times of the ‘40s” at EPOCH Assisted Living of Norton on Friday, Feb. 25, at 3 p.m. This performance is free and open to the public. EPOCH of Norton is located at 190 Mansfield Ave. Space is limited, so we recommend a reservation. For more information, call 508-285-3355 or visit our blog at www.epochsl.com/blog.

Pearlmutter’s songs include music by Gershwin, Rodgers and Hart, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Cole Porter, Kurt Weill, Irving Berlin, and others.  An informative and entertaining narrative introduces the songs and explains something about the times and the era.  Performances can be of a single decade, or combined decades. As singer, Alan has performed as a church soloist and as a choral singer with the St. Louis Symphony Chorus, St. Louis Chamber Chorus, and at summer festivals such as the Blossom, Aspen, and Saratoga Choral Festivals.  As an accompanist and pianist, Alan has worked as a choir director, vocal coach in schools, church organist, and hotel accompanist.  Alan’s training includes music degrees from Brooklyn College, CUNY and Baltimore’s Peabody Conservatory of Music.
