Chanukah on the Green”

For the second year in a row, the Chabad Jewish Center will sponsor its Annual Public Menorah Lighting and Chanukah Celebration on the Norton Town Green, at the corner of Routes 140 & 123 (Mansfield Ave. and W. Main St.) in Norton, on the sixth night of Chanukah, Monday, Dec. 6, at 6:30 PM.

At the Norton lighting on Dec. 6, children and adults will get together to sing traditional Chanukah songs, eat delicious Chanukah foods (such as "Sufganiyot" – Israeli donuts) and light the large Menorah on the green. Delicious holiday refreshments will be available including, Chanukah gelt (chocolate coins), doughnuts and hot cocoa. Town and Sate officials will participate in the festivities. Admission is free and open to all members of the community, regardless of background or affiliation.

The 7-foot menorah will be on display throughout the Chanukah holiday, which begins at sundown on Wednesday, Dec. 1 and ends on the evening of Thursday, Dec. 9.
