Un-Common Announces Auditions for Students Grades 9 through Age 21 for The Young Adult Company Summer Production of the Broadway Musical "Chicago"
The Un-Common Theatre Co. is excited to announce that The Un-Common Young Adult Company is holding auditions for the Tony award-winning Broadway Musical “Chicago” to be presented at the Orpheum Theatre, Foxboro, MA in July, 2013.
Everyone loves a legend – but in Chicago during the roaring twenties, there's only room for one. Roxie Hart murders a faithless lover and convinces her hapless husband Amos to take the rap...until he finds out he's been duped and turns on Roxie. Convicted and sent to death row, Roxie meets up with another "Merry Murderess" Velma Kelly, who is not happy that Roxie is not only stealing her limelight but also her lawyer, Billy Flynn. Roxie and Velma both vie for the spotlight and the headlines, ultimately joining forces in search of the "American Dream": fame, fortune and acquittal. This sharp-edged satire features a dazzling score, lavish production numbers and “All That Jazz”!

Auditions will be held for students currently in grade 9 through age 21 on Monday, May 20th, 2013 from 6:30pm by appointment only in Mansfield, MA with call backs on Tuesday, May 21st, 2013 at 6:30pm in Mansfield, MA. If you are physically unable to attend the auditions, please contact Un-Common by email for information on presenting a video audition.
Rehearsals will be held on Mondays and one other weeknight evening in Mansfield and Foxboro and Sunday afternoons in Foxboro beginning May 26th. The show will be performed at The Orpheum Theater in Foxboro, MA July 18-21, 2013.
