Going to Girl Scout camp is a chance to explore nature, have fun, try new things and make great friends. Camp Edith Read is located on a 44-acre site along Wading River and includes playing fields, adventure trails and an in-ground swimming pool.
Some of the many programs offered this summer at camp will include: Animal Planet, a week of animal adventures; Get a Clue, in which campers use science to solve the camp mystery; and Survivor 2013, where campers outwit challenges like how to tie a knot, start a camp fire and much more. Traditional camp activities such as hiking, swimming, singing, and arts and crafts will also be enjoyed by all campers. Girls will have a chance to be part of the planning for each day at camp.
