Fraud and Animal Incidents in Norton Police Log: July 22 - 27

The following information was supplied by Norton Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Sunday, July 22
12:49 a.m.: Norton Glen Road, vandalism. Caller reports yard has been vandalized. There is a chair and weed whacker that was not locked up taken, flowers broken and trash thrown around the yard and a flag taken off her front door. She is going to talk to the neighbors in the morning to see if they saw anything.
1:19 a.m.: Eisnor Drive, general disturbance. Caller reports hearing screaming coming from the woods. All quiet now, may have come from party that is breaking up.
4:19 a.m.: Lazy Lane, general disturbance. Caller requests an officer to the area for boaters in the area keeping the neighbors up. Patrolman Turcotte reports he went down to the water and spoke with two gentlemen who were there with boats not making any noise. Asked them to continue to not make any noise. Spoke to homeowner and advised her there would most likely be boats on the water every weekend for the rest of the summer. She was uncooperative and was referred to the selectmen's office.
11:22 a.m.: Downing Drive, vandalism. Reporting party reports his mailbox and neighbor’s were damaged over the evening.
11:39 a.m.: Norton Glen Road, larceny. Reporting party says objects were taken off their lawn overnight and would like to see an officer. Extra patrols requested.
9:48 p.m.: Alder Road, animal incident. Caller reports her dogs attacked a baby skunk and it is still on her back porch wounded. Brian Plante notified and en route.
11:20 p.m.: Norton Glen Road, general disturbance. Caller reports visiting a friend and his ex-girlfriend appeared outside from behind his vehicle and started yelling at him and hitting him. He is inside and unsure if she did anything to his vehicle and he would like an officer to speak with her so he can leave peacefully. Other party spoken to. She has left for the night.

Monday, July 23
8:39 a.m.: Pine Street, larceny. Caller reports someone has taken his water meter. Property is condemned and has No Trespassing signs on it. Copper also taken from basement.
11:20 a.m.: W. Main St., larceny. Walk-in reporting larceny by check.
11:41 a.m.: Old Colony Road, harassment/threats. Letter of Disinvitation/Trespass Order was
being faxed over by a lawyer representing RJ Automotive in response to harassing and threatening phone calls. Order was received.
11:54 a.m.: S. Worcester Street, larceny. Caller reporting ongoing issue with scrap being stolen. About $200 in aluminum shavings stolen from an unsecured bin in the rear. Also about $400 of scrap steel taken from an unsecured dumpster in the rear. Extra patrols requested on the weekend.
12:32 p.m.: E. Hodges Street, animal incident. A couple of donkeys running in the roadway.
1:23 p.m.: E. Main Street, larceny. Caller reporting female who has been coming into the farm stand and taking whatever she wants and leaving $1.
4:39 p.m.: W. Main Street, motor vehicle accident. No police services needed.
8:17 p.m.: John Scott Boulevard, motor vehicle accident. Caller reports a White Toyota Camry smashed into her mailbox. She does not believe there are any injuries. Operator was cited.,
8:51 p.m.: Faith Way, harassment/threats. Caller reports being harassed by woman who allegedly stole her car. Would like to look into pressing charges.
8:58 p.m.: Norton Glen Road, general disturbance. Caller reports ex-girlfriend is outside in the parking lot, neighbors caught her slashing his tires. He reports girlfriend is highly intoxicated as well. Patrolman Greco spoke with reporting party and several others, reports subject not
found, no damage to reporting party's vehicle, peace restored.

Tuesday, July 24
7:16 a.m.: Oak Street, animal incident. A flock of ducks in the roadway that appear to be someone's pets. Ducks have been returned.
8:03 a.m.: Pleasant Street, suspicious condition. Caller reports finding a syringe in the parking lot of the day care. He will dispose of it.
12:20 p.m.: W. Main Street, harassment/threats. Caller from post office reports the mail delivery person is at 120 W.Main St. and a person just pulled a gun on her. Mail carrier is currently outside by her truck and will wait for officers there.
Resident spoken to and is on his way out and will be leaving the bb pistol behind in the residence. Two bb guns and one firearm confiscated.
2:14 p.m.: W. Main Street, minor motor vehicle accident.
6:22 p.m.: Norton Glen Road, harassment/threats. Caller reports ongoing harassment by another tenant. Peace restored there should be no further issues.
7:32 p.m.: Norton Glen Road, motor vehicle accident. Less than $1,000 in damages.
11:05 p.m.: Freeman Street, vandalism. Caller reports older model green Dodge minivan struck mailbox and continued. Area search negative to the Attleboro line.
11:16 pm.: E. Hodges Street, motor vehicle accident. Vehicle versus pole with minor injury. Pole split, National Grid advised.

Wednesday, July 25
9:39 a.m.: Plain Street, motor vehicle accident. Caller reports car versus pole. Occupant out of vehicle. No fluid leaks. National Grid advised. Transformer just barely hanging on, road is being shut down. One transport to Sturdy Memorial Hospital. Operator cited.
10:44 a.m.: Mayflower Road, assisted Attleboro Police Department in attempt to locate a male.
2:39 p.m.: Lagoon Lane, larceny. Walk-in reports larceny of change container, possibly by ex stepson. No proof.
3:12 p.m.: W. Main Street, motor vehicle accident. Information exchanged.
8:51 p.m.: Pitt Clarke Road, suspicious condition. Reporting party reports two youths ringing doorbells and running off. This is the fourth night this has happened. Area search negative.

Thursday, July 26
8:09 a.m.: Downing Drive, vandalism. Caller reports mailbox was smashed sometime overnight.
5:19 p.m.: S. Washington Street, domestic disturbance.
5:51 p.m.: Robin Circle, fraud/embezzlement. Walk-in reporting Internet fraud.
6:13 p.m.: Mansfield Avenue, domestic disturbance.

Friday, July 27
1:23 a.m.: Old Colony Road, general disturbance. Caller reports male on balcony yelling. Subject has keyed her car. Transported to protective custody.
8:57 a.m.: Lincoln Street, suspicious condition. Caller reports 20-year-old daughter saw suspicious posts from a friend on Facebook and is concerned. Report taken.
3:30 p.m.: Lagoon Lane, sex offense. Walk-in reporting a sexual offense involving a child.
4:18 p.m.: W. Main Street, suspicious condition. While exiting his personal motor vehicle, an off duty officer observed two males in a vehicle with a bong. Approached the operator, who recognized him as a Norton patrolman, and asked if he had anything else in the motor vehicle. The operator was asked to destroy marijuana.
4:18 p.m.: Fairway View, fraud/embezzlement. Reporting party reports four bad checks written and withdrawn from his account. Checks cashed in Easton. Victim advised.
7:21 p.m.: Shelly Road, harassment/threats. Caller reports ongoing issue with neighbor. Β Reports neighbor is threatening her and her husband. Advised of options.
