Good Ol' Fashioned Summertime Fun [VIDEO]

Norton Public Library kicks off 2011 summer concert series.

β€œIt’s not summer until they see Java Jive at the library,” said head librarian Lee Parker, whose words originated from past audience members.

Β Java Jive kicked off the 2011 summer concert series in the library park Tuesday, playing everything from Motown favorites to current hits.

Β β€œWe play a lot of different material, and obviously we are catering to who is here tonight,” said Don Richard who sings and plays the keyboard and trumpet.

Β β€œThey knew this would be a great space for concerts,” Parker said, noting that past concerts have drawn crowds of up to 200 people.

Β β€œIt kind of takes you back to what it used to be like here in America,” Garret said.
