Gun Seized From Hill Street Home
Man charged with disturbing the peace and possession of a large capacity feeding device.

At 8:53 a.m. Saturday morning, responded to 21 Hill St., Apt. # 22, for a report of a male resident yelling inside his apartment.
Police made several attempts to contact the resident, George Martin, 52. Martin would not respond to the officers' requests. The yelling in the apartment had stopped, but officers could hear and see movement in the apartment. Martin still ignored the officers' repeated requests to exit the apartment. Officers then heard what they believed to be a weapon being racked and had received reports of Martin uttering threats. A preliminary check of Martin revealed that he did own weapons.
Officers surrounded the apartment building and the Metropolitan Law Enforcement Council Swat Team was notified and responded to the scene. Two other residents in the building were evacuated and the next door apartment building was evacuated as well. Approximately two hours later, after speaking with the Metro-Lec Crisis Negotiation Team, Martin agreed to exit the apartment. Martin exited the apartment peacefully and was taken into custody. After Martin was taken into custody, officers removed a shotgun and ammunition from the residence.
