Homecoming Game to Kick Off with Track, Bleachers Opening Ceremony [VIDEO]

Event to take place Oct. 21.

On Friday, Oct. 21, Norton High School officially opens its new track, bleachers and press box at Adams Field.

The opening ceremony will take place at 6:45 p.m. prior to the Norton Football Team’s Homecoming game versus Medfield High School. The public is cordially invited to attend this event. Members of the Norton High School football, soccer, cross country and cheerleading teams, as well as the pep band, will be brought out onto the field. There will be brief speeches by Dr. Ansay, elected officials and a coach, followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony on the 50-yard line. The football game will follow.

“Our hope is that this will be a memorable evening and the start of many new and exciting changes taking place at Norton High School,” high school administration said in a press release.

Prior to this event the Norton 1st and Ten (football boosters group) along with other Norton sports booster groups will present their second annual Best of Norton tailgate party.

Local businesses are asked to provide a tray or two of specialty items, five to six pizzas, a trays of sandwiches or dessert items that can be served to guests prior to the game.

“This tailgate party showcases the best that Norton has to offer, and was attended by over 500 people last year,” said the press release.

Vendors will be announced during the cable coverage of the game and signage will be provided as a token of thanks to all supporters. All food will need to be delivered to Norton High School Oct. 21 by 5:30 p.m.
